The Imperial Property is located in the mountainous terrain of the Appalachia Plateau Physiographic Province of West Virginia. The property was purchased from LandVest in 2011. Only perpetual timber rights were conveyed at the time of purchase. The property is dominated by the Appalachian hardwood forest type. Common species include yellow poplar, chestnut oak, white oak, red maple, and sugar maple. Hardwoods comprise 99% of the total sawtimber volume.

The Imperial Property is located in McDowell County, West Virginia. The mountainous terrain is dominated by vast tracts of forestland growing on the steep Appalachian slopes. Several communities along US Hwy 52 border the property, including Maybeury, Northfork, and Kimball. The property is surrounded by the Appalachian Timber Holdings, forested properties also managed by TFG.
The Imperial Property was purchased in November 2011 from GMO (Fund Domestic 7) through their broker, LandVest. Fund Domestic 7 purchased the property in 2005 from Bright Forestlands, LLC who acquired portions of the property separately from Imperial Resources, LLC and Liberty Land, LLC in 2004. Imperial and Liberty Lands acquired the property from Mega Minerals, Inc in 1998 and 2004 respectively.
The TFG purchase of the Imperial Property conveyed perpetual timber rights only.
Imperial is a typical southern Appalachian timber property dominated Oaks & Yellow-Poplar. 77% of the sawtimber volume is represented in 16-in-or-greater diameter classes and hardwood sawtimber makes up 99% of the total sawtimber volume. The species mix breaks down as follows: Yellow-Poplar (38%), Red Oaks (23%), White Oaks (14%), and Maples (10%).
